Equipment Introduction
I. The Submerged Arc Furnace Combined Electrode Holder is used for electrode slipping and clamping. It typically consists of clamping cylinders, slipping cylinders, clamping jaws, disc springs, etc. Depending on the power rating of the submerged arc furnace, the number of holders may range from 6 to 8 or more.
II. The clamping force is primarily determined by the electrode's weight (tonnage). The load on a single combined electrode holder is calculated as F = F0 × n.
F: Total weight of the electrode (kgf)
F0 = Force on a single combined electrode holder (kgf)
F0 = S × N × P
S: Contact area of the clamping jaw (cm²)
N: Friction coefficient (dimensionless)
P: Disc spring force (kgf)
